4THE OVAL’S CLOSET

If you have an oval body shape, your goal is to de-emphasize your midsection and create a more defined waist. You can achieve this by choosing garments that add a little volume to your lower body and tops that contour at the waist. Tops should gently graze your midsection and form a slight A-line from the waist to the hip; this will be most flattering for your frame and give you more shape. Anything banded or belted at the waist should be worn slightly loose to avoid creating an unattractive bulge across your midsection. Generally, women with an oval body shape have great legs, so if you are one of the lucky ones, have fun with skirt lengths and interesting hemlines. But don’t go too short; if you do, your midsection will appear larger. Keep skirt lengths just above, just below, or right at the knee.
